Getting started
What is Logic Weaver Workstation?
An independent, AI-assisted workstation compatible with Studio. You create new routines (on Pro and Max) or import routines and whole projects from .L5X exports, read and edit the ladder by hand or with AI you review rung by rung, simulate it with no controller, import it into Studio, then test it on a live PLC on your bench (Max).
Do I need to install anything?
No — the Workstation runs in your browser. The one exception is Live Testing on the Max plan, which uses Data Weaver, a small Windows app that installs per user without admin rights.
Which browsers and devices does it work on?
Chrome (recommended), Edge, Firefox and Safari, on desktop, tablet and phone. Live Testing, voice dictation, drag and drop and split view need a computer, and Live Testing needs Chrome, Edge or Firefox; almost everything else works on a phone or tablet too.
Is the Free plan really free?
Yes, and it needs no payment details. Free includes up to 3 projects, importing routines one at a time, hand editing, Simulate Routine, the Tag Manager and manual I/O configuration. The AI, exporting, importing in bulk or a whole project, and simulating more than one routine come with Pro and Max. Free accounts with no sign-in for 12 months may be deleted, with notice where we have an email address.
Is there a trial of the paid features?
New accounts can get a one-time 3-day Max trial. You start on Free right away; our team approves the trial, which can take up to 24 hours.
Studio and files
Do I still need Studio?
Yes. Logic Weaver works on the .L5X files you export from Studio; you bring your changes back into Studio to verify them and download to the controller.
Which files can I import?
Studio .L5X exports: routines, programs, Add-On Instructions, data types and whole projects. .ACD and .L5K files are not supported.
Which controllers are supported?
CompactLogix and ControlLogix.
Which programming languages?
Ladder logic. Function Block viewing and editing is a Max preview. Structured Text and SFC routines are carried through your project untouched.
Can it download to my controller?
No. Export your work and download it with Studio.
The AI
Can the AI change my PLC?
No. AI edits are proposals shown in the Changes Viewer; nothing is applied until you accept each change, and nothing reaches a controller unless you export it and download it with Studio.
How do I know the AI's logic is right?
Every AI Programmer edit is run in the simulator before you see it, and where the change has behavior to promise, it is graded against Behavior checks — plain statements of what the change should do. You then review every rung, and Studio verifies the result. AI output can still contain mistakes, which is why nothing lands without your approval.
What are AI credits?
Paid plans include a monthly allowance of AI credits, shown with each plan on the Pricing page. Unused credits roll over, up to one extra month's allowance. Hand editing, simulation and export never use credits.
Is my code used to train AI models?
No. Logic Weaver uses the paid tier of Google's Gemini API: your code is not used to train models and is not reviewed by people at Google. Google may keep it for up to 55 days for abuse monitoring, then deletes it.
Simulation and Live Testing
Can I test logic without hardware?
Yes. Simulate Routine is on every plan, Simulate Program on Pro, and Simulate Project — the whole controller on its task schedule — on Max.
What doesn't the simulator run?
Rungs with an instruction the engine doesn't simulate yet are greyed out and labelled "Out of scope" rather than guessed; cascade PID loops are one example.
Can it connect to a real PLC?
On Max, Live Testing connects to a CompactLogix or ControlLogix on your own bench through Data Weaver for Windows. Live monitoring only reads the controller; Live Control writes values.
Can I use Live Control on a running plant?
No. Live Control is for test benches, factory testing and development equipment only — not an installed machine or running process — and it is not a safety device.
Plans and billing
How do I pay for a plan?
Choose Pro or Max in the app and select Request Direct Billing. We arrange an invoice that you settle by e-transfer, then switch your plan on. Card payment is coming soon.
Is there monthly billing?
No. Paid plans are prepaid for 6 months or a year; yearly costs less.
Which currency will I be billed in?
Canadian prices are exact and the default; US and euro prices are estimates at the day's exchange rate. Your billing currency is locked when your plan is first activated.
What happens if I don't renew?
At the end of the paid term your account returns to Free. Your projects and work are kept; only the paid features pause.
Can I share a project with someone on the Free plan?
Yes. Sharing needs the project owner on Max; the people they share with can be on any plan. Shared access lapses after 30 days of inactivity, and revoking it takes effect immediately.
Where is my data stored, and who can see it?
Your projects are stored in Google Firebase, encrypted in transit and at rest, and only you and the people you share a project with can open it. The full details are on our Security & Privacy page.
