Import Routine
Bring in routines from Studio .L5X exports — one at a time on Free, in bulk on Pro.
Grouped the way a project moves through it. Every item shows its plan; AI items use credits; preview items are Max features.
Start from the logic you already have, or from a template.
Bring in routines from Studio .L5X exports — one at a time on Free, in bulk on Pro.
Start a routine from a template, build I/O mapping from your cards (one rung per point), or describe what you need and the AI writes it for your review. A template with no instructions builds instantly and uses no AI credits.
Bring in a whole project with its local I/O. A preview lists anything that will be skipped before you commit.
Start a project with the standard Studio folders and ready-made Template Routines. Up to 3 projects on Free, unlimited on Pro.
Create the I/O assignment with the Logic Weaver wizard, and every Local:N:C/I/O tag and status point is created for you.
Paste a screenshot of the Studio I/O tree and get a fully tagged backplane.
Copy a program from another project, or duplicate a whole project to try a change safely.
Import a tag CSV exported from Studio into the Tag Manager.
Read inherited logic quickly, and ask about it in plain English.
Studio-style rendering of rungs, branches and instruction boxes, with search, Go To Rung and the familiar project tree.
Browse, search and edit the tag database, with a Tag Change History of every edit.
Click any tag to see every routine and rung that uses it, and jump straight there.
Up to six routines side by side.
Plain-English answers about the routine on screen, or the whole program's saved logic.
Give the AI whole-project context: pin routines, AOIs and data types it should know about.
The full Help Guide on every plan; on Pro, Weaver Help answers questions about the app itself.
Doing the work yourself is free — hand editing is on every plan.
Routines open read-only until you choose Edit. The Instruction Toolbar follows Studio's order, with a searchable Tag Picker and undo.
Purpose-built dialogs for PID, GSV/SSV (with a CIP help panel), ALMD/ALMA, JSR, LIMIT, MEQ and CMP.
Move instructions and rungs with the mouse.
Every save creates a named, timestamped revision you can go back to.
Open and edit Function Block routines — a Max preview.
Ask for logic. Weaver creates it. You approve every rung.
Describe the change; the AI proposes ladder edits that you review before anything is saved.
The newest AI models first, for complex multi-rung work.
Where your request leaves a real choice open — restart after a fault, latching or auto-reset — the plan offers it with a Suggested answer you can change.
Every AI edit is run in the simulator, and graded against plain statements of what the change should do.
New rungs in green, removed in red, edited rungs with the original above. Accept or discard each one.
The AI uses your project's Add-On Instructions and data types by name, and AOI call arguments are checked before you accept.
Attach images and dictate by voice (desktop) on Pro; attach CSV files on Max.
Build, reuse and share your own instruction library.
Place Add-On Instructions and edit their logic and your data types by hand.
Have the AI generate or edit Add-On Instructions and data types.
Keep a library of AOIs and UDTs and sync them into your projects.
Run the logic with no controller, from one routine to the whole project.
Toggle and force inputs, step the scan, change speed, and watch power flow through the rungs.
The main routine and every JSR it calls, in one scan.
The whole controller: continuous, periodic and event tasks on their own schedules.
Questions carry the simulation's live values ("Using: Simulation values").
Record tags while the simulation runs and watch them in Record Weaver's trend.
Send a recording into the chat and ask what happened: which interlock dropped out first, why the pump tripped, or how to tune a PID loop. Answers name the tag, the time and the rung, and tuning advice quotes the loop's measured response — overshoot, rise time and settling.
See the simulation page for the test bench, Pre-Flight warnings, PID loops and alarms.
Take your work back to Studio to verify and download.
Export a routine at any revision, or a whole program.
Export a whole imported project.
If Studio would reject the file, the export refuses and tells you why.
Paste Studio's import error and get a repaired routine. Known errors are fixed from a built-in catalog with no AI; anything else goes to AI repair.
Changed routines stay marked until they're exported, so no fix gets stranded.
In Studio: File → Open or Import, then Verify, then download.
Reports and a record of what changed, kept with the project.
Tag-usage reports, I/O lists and logic summaries, saved to the project and exported to Markdown, text, Word or PDF.
Journal reports on Pro; Design Notes, the Change Log and recordings on Max.
Shared projects without stepping on each other's edits.
The owner needs Max; the people they share with can be on any plan. Revoking takes effect immediately, and shared access lapses after 30 days of inactivity.
Opening a routine locks it to you. Others can Request Control; owners can Force Unlock.
Connect & control a real PLC on your own bench through Data Weaver for Windows.
Live Control is not to be used on production equipment. Bench test only!
See the controller's own values on the rungs. It starts only after the controller name and program list match the project.
Write values for bench tests and FAT — never on an installed machine or running process. Every write is recorded in the Live PLC record.
Ask questions that use the controller's live values.
Data Weaver runs on Windows 10/11 (macOS coming soon), installs per user without admin rights, and accepts only local connections. Live isn't available on phones. Not a safety device.
Almost all of the Workstation works on a phone or tablet.
Explorer, Chat, Ladder, Changes, Simulate and the Tag Manager, with press-and-hold menus and a bottom navigation bar.
Send an exported routine to Google Drive, OneDrive or Files through the share sheet.
Not on phones: Live Testing, voice dictation, drag and drop, and split view.
